In her practice, Hadas Weisman handles a broad range of transactional services with a focus on technology and content licensing and distribution.
Prior to founding her own firm, Hadas was the lead intellectual property lawyer at Thomson Financial in New York (later Thomson Reuters / Refinitiv) a multibillion-dollar provider of data, news and technology to the financial community. She advised on intellectual property issues in the context of business transactions and product development and was responsible for all content and data feed distribution agreements (licenses out) and technology partnerships (licenses-in, development, alliances).
Hadas created and implemented an efficient contract infrastructure that supported different business models and streamlined the negotiations of an increased volume of strategic technology agreements. She worked closely with the business to formulate, standardize and streamline processes from deal inception through contract execution and created business tools in the context of such transactions including matrix, policies and compliance guidelines.
Prior to working at Thomson Financial, Hadas was an attorney at Debevoise & Plimpton, a top Am Law 100 firm. She worked in the firm’s New York office in the corporate and intellectual property departments. Her work included negotiation and drafting of intellectual property and information technology agreements on behalf of clients from different industries, including media, biotech, fashion, education, government and financial services. In addition, Hadas did trademark and copyright clearance and prosecution and worked on art, publishing and film production agreements.
Before she relocated to the US, Hadas practiced corporate law and commercial litigation in Israel in the law firms of Golan, Goldschmidt & Co., and Shraga F. Biran & Co.
Hadas holds an LL.M. from Fordham University School of Law, New York (1998) and an LL.B. from the College of Management School of Law, Israel (1995).

Hadas was named every year from 2014 through 2020 in Super Lawyers Annual List of Top Lawyers in New York Metro as well as one of the Top Women Lawyers in New York Metro in the areas of Intellectual Property and Technology Transactions by Super Lawyers Magazine. Super Lawyers recognizes the top 5% of lawyers in New York.
Hadas is certified as an Information Privacy Professional in the United States (CIPP/US) and Europe (CIPP/E) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the global standard in privacy certification.
Hadas is the recipient of a prize from the International Intellectual Property Society (IIPS) for her graduate thesis on software law (1998).
Hadas was also the recipient of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA) Award (2003).
Hadas maintains an advisory role at several law firms in matters involving software, data and technology licensing.
Hadas enjoys traveling, hiking and cycling with her family. Her favorite destinations are the National Parks and the Southwest. Hadas is an avid photographer, she designs and decorates creative cakes, she enjoys reading history books and playing the piano.
